Stitching wire

heftdraht-detail

Stitching wire, also known as steel wire or galvanized steel wire, is a high carbon wire steel wire and is used in several industries, such as:

  • in the disposable pallet and boxes industry as nailing wire or box stitching wire (250 - 1,000 kg spools or drums)
  • cardboard box manufacturers as carton stitching wire (2 kg - 100 kg spools or drums)
  • in the bookbinding industry as bookibindung stitching wire
  • in the printing industry as rotating stichting wire (2 kg – 500 kg spools or drums)

Our stitching wire is available in various dimensions and surfaces - among other things also nylon-coated or coloured wires. Please do not hesitate contacting our stitching wire specialists at any time - we are happy to help!

Possible surface treatments are available as follows:

  • bright
  • coppered
  • tinned
  • galvanized

The type of surface treatment has an impact on the rust protection of the respective stitching wire.

  • Bright stitching wire corrodes quite quickly and is mainly used for disposable packaging such as fruit and vegetable trays and for chip baskets
  • A better rust protection is provided by coppered (red bright) stitching wire, followed by galvanized wire.
  • Tinned stitching wire is used in the production of suture products with coated paper. The tinned (NN) surface prevents a dark striation around the staples.

Specifications:

  • Round wire
  • Flat wire

Flat wire is an alternative to round wire which can be considered as being the standard type of stitching wire. Flat stitching wire is produced of a round wire that is rolled, increasing the inner structure of the wire and thus the penetrating power. This wire is used in the production of calendars and in the cardboard industry.
